By continuing our “Can do” attitude we are building a stronger club for all our members. My personal goal is to make ERFC the best flying experience humanly possible and increase the popularity of all forms of RC flying.

ERFC has more than 50 years of history, dating back to the very start of radio controlled model aeroplane flying. We are a very friendly, progressive club driven by social events, monthly club nights, a monthly newsletter, an excellent flying field, training and an enlightened approach to RC flying.

Working with the South East BMFA, this summer we will hosting at least two fun, non-competitive events and weather permitting, attract many visiting RC enthusiasts to join our friendly skies.

We welcome the whole spectrum of flyers, from expert to novice and provide comprehensive training and examination to BMFA proficiency standards.

More lately we have encompassed changes in regulations and working with the cooperation of the authorities we have successfully gained the necessary permissions to fly in proximity to full sized operations. Unfortunately due to our location we cannot accommodate quads or drones from our flying site.

About

About us.

Epsom Radio Flying Club is one of the UK’s oldest model aircraft clubs. Started in 1968 on Epsom Downs, the Club has since migrated south to its current location on the border between Surrey and Sussex.

About our flying site: In late 2025 the club relocated from our previous home to a nearby site which benefits from much improved vehicle access and 7-days per week flying. Whilst we are still in the early stages of establishing ourselves at our new location, our ethos remains unchanged.

A friendly bunch who love our sport and enjoy getting together at our flying field for some good days flying and a chat with friends. During the summer we also have Wednesday evening Fly-Inns. In the winter, once a month (Third Wednesday) we hold our “Club Night” for a noggin and a natter and more often than not, a guest speaker at Heathy Farm pub in Crawley.

ERFC welcomes new members and can offer training to those with little or no prior experience. Flying is currently restricted to electric only models. Unfortunately due to our location we cannot accommodate Multi-Rotor models.

For those that wish to progress through the BMFA achievement scheme we have 2 examiners and 4 instructors.

If this sounds like your sort of thing and you would like to join, please use the contact form in the contact us section and drop us a line.  Experienced pilots and novices are all welcome.
